
Polish born Mark Wyroslak, President of Polbay Contracting Ltd, Arrived in Canada with two suitcases, $1100 and old world carpentry Skills in millwork and fine furniture. After adding construction experience to his repertoire, Mark established Polbay Construction in 1988 and has guided its growth to become a multi-million dollar enterprise employing up to 70 skilled craftsmen.
They are one of the largest finish carpentry firms in Western Canada being involved in more than 120 large high rise projects, and working with all the major Developers and Contractors.
Recognized as a premier source for finished carpentry, moldings and hardware materials, Polbay Construction has worked with Concord Pacific on all but one of their spectacular high-rise projects since 1995.
Polbay’s craftsmanship can be enjoyed throughout King’s Landing. In the luxurious suites they contributed doors, doorframes and hardware from the entrance and throughout. They furnished the creative wooden molding and crowns as well as washroom accessories and hardware. Doors, hardware and moldings in the common area are the work of Polbay as is same rough carpentry in the service rooms.
Although Polbay’s primary market is Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, they have completed projects throughout British Columbia. At Whistler, BC, site of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, they contributed to First Tracks lodge and Nature’s Door, renowned ski-In and out lodges. Other projects include Kitimal General Hospital in Prince George, BC.
